Standard vs Supreme: which Snuggledown blanket fits?

Two product families share the Snuggledown name. Here is the difference that actually changes how the bed feels, and how to tell them apart before you buy.

5 min read · Direct Clearance buying guides

Snuggledown sells more than one kind of electric blanket, and the names can blur together in a marketplace listing. The two families we refer to are the standard electric blanket and the Intelligent Warmth Supreme. They are not the same product with a different box. Knowing which one you are looking at stops you paying Supreme money for a standard blanket, or expecting Supreme adjustability from a simpler model.

The settings are the clearest difference

The standard blanket has three heat settings. The Supreme has nine. Three settings are perfectly workable if you mostly want one warmer setting on a cold night. Nine settings matter if you feel the difference between quite warm and very warm, or if two people in the bed want different amounts of heat.

Nine settings give you more selectable levels. They do not, on their own, tell you the temperature of each level: check the instructions for the exact model rather than assuming a particular temperature range.

Model identity and label checks

Check the packaging and product label as well as the photographs. Our standard King packaging states 100% polyester. Older Supreme packaging also differs from the current manufacturer's reference, so fabric composition must be confirmed for the exact model. A current product photograph is not proof of an older item's specification.

If you are comparing listings, these recorded product identifiers can help confirm which family you are looking at. Treat them as a starting point to verify against the seller rather than a guarantee:

  • Standard Double: EAN 5037045027919
  • Standard King: EAN 5037045027926
  • Supreme Double: EAN 5037045027872

These codes come from supplier listings and should be rechecked against the exact product before purchase. Codes can be reused or mistyped in marketplace listings.

Controllers and how many people benefit

The Supreme is supplied with one controller on the Single size and two on the Double. Two controllers let each side of the bed run at its own setting, which is the main reason to choose Supreme for a shared bed. A single controller means one setting for the whole blanket.

Dimensions and fit

We have not published centimetre measurements for either family, because we have not verified them yet. Rather than guess, check the seller's size chart against your mattress before ordering, and confirm the topper is designed for your mattress depth. An electric underblanket is fitted between the mattress and the sheet, so it needs to lie flat.

Which one would we choose?

If you want more selectable warmth levels, consider Supreme. For shared beds, check that your chosen size has independent controls. If you prefer a simpler choice of settings, explore the standard blanket. Final prices and specifications will help you compare the two before ordering.
